Sowore Critiques Politicians for Relying on Godfathers

Omoyele Sowore, the 2027 presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), criticized Nigerian politicians for their reliance on godfathers, wealthy backers, and established political parties instead of creating their own movements. In a social media post, Sowore defended the AAC, stating it was built through the courage, sacrifice, and support of ordinary Nigerians.

He questioned why politicians who claim to have electoral strength frequently switch parties during election periods rather than establishing their own political movements. Sowore also condemned politicians who attempt to persuade their supporters to abandon the political platforms they have built.

He challenged these politicians to demonstrate the popularity of their ideas by organizing and mobilizing Nigerians independently of wealthy patrons.
