Sowore Declared AAC Presidential Candidate for 2027

Omoyele Sowore has emerged as the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC) for the upcoming 2027 elections. This declaration was made during the party's presidential primary held on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, in Abuja, Federal Capital Territory.

Sowore received unanimous endorsement from the delegates and party leaders present at the event, reaffirming his influence within the AAC ahead of the general elections. In his acceptance speech, Sowore expressed gratitude to the delegates, who were drawn from across the country, for their sacrifices and belief in the party's vision.

He emphasized that the AAC remains focused on confronting issues such as corruption, bad governance, insecurity, and economic hardship that affect millions of Nigerians. Sowore vowed to garner support from Nigerians to defeat the current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in the upcoming elections.
