Sowore Vows to Protect Electoral Mandate Ahead of 2027

Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate for the African Action Congress (AAC), made a strong declaration at the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Annual General Conference in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, regarding the upcoming 2027 elections. He criticized politicians who failed to protect their electoral mandates in previous elections, urging voters not to repeat the mistakes of the 2023 elections.

Sowore specifically referenced Dino Melaye, a former senator from Kogi State, as someone who raised concerns about protecting votes. He emphasized that he would personally resist any attempts to deny him victory, stating, “If anybody takes a vote on an election I won, the person will not be president of Nigeria; I can assure you that.

Even if it takes my life.” Sowore insisted that elections should be determined transparently at polling units and warned that his supporters would not accept unfair elections, stating that they would shut down the country until a rightful leader was recognized.
