NDC Urges Atiku to Support Obi Against Tinubu in 2027

Theo Abu Agada, the Director of New Media and Strategic Communications for the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC), has called on Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), to withdraw from the 2027 presidential race and endorse NDC’s candidate, Peter Obi. Agada expressed that Atiku's support for Obi would significantly improve the opposition's chances of unseating President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming election.

He emphasized that stepping aside would not tarnish Atiku's legacy but could instead strengthen the opposition. Agada praised Atiku’s character and vision, stating, “His idea for a working Nigeria is brilliant but at this point, he needs to give up his ambition.” This statement follows Atiku's declaration during a Facebook Live session that the 2027 presidential election would be his final attempt at the presidency, regardless of the outcome.
