Tinubu Leads Obi by 1.55% in Oxford-Metro Poll for 2027

In the Oxford-Metro Analytics National Trust Poll, which closed on September 7, 2023, President Bola Tinubu garnered 24,469 responses, representing 35.41% of the total, while Peter Obi received 23,402 responses, accounting for 33.86%. This gives Tinubu a lead of 1,067 responses, or 1.55 percentage points.

Former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar placed third with 18,430 responses, representing 26.67%. The poll recorded a total of 69,110 approved responses.

Regionally, Tinubu led in 20 states and the Federal Capital Territory, with significant support in Northern Nigeria, including Kaduna, Katsina, and Gombe. Obi and Atiku each led in eight states.

Tinubu's strongest performance was in the South-West, where he received 10,968 responses (43.53%), while Obi excelled in the South-East with 5,796 responses (63.97%). The results indicate a close contest among the three candidates, with narrow margins in several states, including Kogi and the Federal Capital Territory.
