PRP Chairman Predicts Tinubu's Loss in 2027 Election

Hakeem Baba-Ahmed, the National Chairman of the Peoples Redemption Party (PRP), asserted that President Bola Tinubu would lose the 2027 presidential election if it is conducted in a credible, free, and fair manner. During an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today, Baba-Ahmed indicated that the opposition is working to provide a viable alternative to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

He argued that the numerical strength of the APC does not guarantee electoral support from Nigerians. Citing the recent Osun State governorship election, where the APC was defeated despite opposition parties contesting separately, he expressed confidence that the ruling party could be beaten through a credible electoral process.

Baba-Ahmed noted that the PRP aims to transition from a fringe party to a significant alternative to the APC, despite challenges from the ruling party and other institutions. He mentioned that while a formal coalition among opposition parties may not be feasible due to legal constraints, various forms of cooperation are being explored ahead of the elections.
