PDP Outlines Strategy to Defeat Tinubu in 2027 Elections

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has stated that the outcome of the Osun State governorship election serves as a blueprint for defeating President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections. Following Governor Ademola Adeleke's victory, where he secured 511,067 votes against APC's Bola Oyebamiji, who garnered 404,107 votes, the PDP emphasized the significance of voter unity and the protection of votes.

The party's statement, signed by National Publicity Secretary Ini Ememobong, highlighted that Adeleke's win, which marked his second term, was achieved despite challenges, including alleged intimidation and pressure from the APC. The PDP accused the ruling party of attempting to influence the electoral process through various means, including the arrest of opposition politicians.

The statement also referenced a controversial remark by Senator Francis Fadahunsi, which contributed to the tense atmosphere leading up to the election.
