Atiku's Aide: Nigerians Will Decide 2027 Election Verdict

Paul Ibe, the Media Adviser to Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress, asserted that the verdict of the 2027 general election will be decided by Nigerians rather than clerical endorsements. His comments were made in a Facebook post on Thursday, responding to the endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term by the Charismatic Bishops Conference of Nigeria (CBCN), which occurred during the grand finale of the 2026 Synod in Abuja.

Ibe emphasized that while groups have the right to make political endorsements, citizens should question the basis of such endorsements. He raised concerns about the administration’s economic policies, including rising food prices and unemployment.

Ibe referenced the previous controversy involving the APC and "fake bishops" during the last election cycle, arguing that clerical titles do not equate to credibility or performance assessment. He concluded that the 2027 election will be determined by voters based on their lived experiences, not by endorsements.
