ADC's Abdullahi Confident Atiku Will Defeat Tinubu in 2027

Bolaji Abdullahi, the National Publicity Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), expressed confidence that the party’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, will defeat President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 elections. Abdullahi stated that the upcoming elections would differ from 2023, as Nigerians would have known Tinubu for four years and would evaluate him based on his performance in office.

He noted that the cost-of-living crisis and other economic issues would significantly influence voter decisions. Abdullahi acknowledged the efforts of the G-100 coalition in uniting opposition parties but maintained that ADC is confident in winning the presidential election independently.

He mentioned that while the coalition's proposals, including a common presidential candidate and a four-year transition government, are commendable, they are not prerequisites for ADC's success in the elections. Abdullahi affirmed the party's support for a broad-based opposition coalition aimed at rebuilding public confidence in government.
