Wabara Calls for Unity to Ensure Credible 2027 Elections

Adolphus Wabara, the former Senate President and current chairman of the Board of Trustees of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), is intensifying his advocacy for credible elections in Nigeria for the 2027 general elections. He is enlisting the Nigerian diaspora to collaborate in countering threats to Nigeria's democracy.

Wabara emphasized the urgency of safeguarding the democratic process, which he believes is under threat ahead of the upcoming elections. His team has engaged in high-level consultations with the Nigerian diaspora to adopt a unified strategy aimed at preserving Nigeria's democratic institutions and resisting attempts to undermine the multi-party system.

Wabara expressed alarm over the current state of Nigeria's democracy, describing it as critically in need of restoration. He called for unity among opposition parties and civil society organizations to prioritize national interests over partisan politics.

Additionally, he urged eligible Nigerians to obtain their Permanent Voter's Card (PVC) ahead of the voter registration deadline on July 10, emphasizing active citizen participation as a safeguard against electoral manipulation.
