Wike: Atiku's 2027 Win Tough with Amaechi as VP

On Tuesday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, expressed concerns regarding Atiku Abubakar's potential success in the 2027 presidential election if Rotimi Amaechi is selected as his vice-presidential candidate. During a media chat in Abuja, Wike asserted that relying on Amaechi for votes would lead to a "dead on arrival" campaign.

He referenced past elections, noting that former President Muhammadu Buhari, under Amaechi's leadership as campaign Director General, failed to secure 25 percent of the votes in both the 2015 and 2019 elections. Wike criticized Amaechi's influence in Rivers State and the South South region, questioning his ability to garner support and impact the lives of the people.

He also pointed out that Amaechi had previously claimed the African Democratic Congress primary was marred by irregularities and corruption, yet he is now benefiting from the same system.
