Yoruba Ronu Forum Backs ADC for 2027 Elections

The Yoruba Ronu Forum has formally terminated its relationship with the All Progressives Congress (APC) and has declared its support for the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in anticipation of the 2027 general elections. This decision follows a high-level visit by the forum's leadership to the ADC national secretariat in Abuja, where they discussed political strategies for long-term collaboration.

A statement issued after the visit, signed by the forum's president Akin Malaolu, accused the APC of weakening public confidence in Nigeria's democratic system. The forum expressed concerns over the declining interest of Nigerians in the electoral process, referencing low voter turnout in recent elections as evidence of citizens' distrust in political leadership.

They highlighted the worsening economic situation, rising unemployment, insecurity, and food prices as major issues affecting ordinary Nigerians. The forum believes that the ADC presents a credible alternative and has called on the Yoruba people, including those in the diaspora, to rally behind the ADC to work towards a new political direction for the 2027 elections.
