Wike Vows to Actively Campaign Against Atiku in 2027

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), expressed his determination to remain active in political activities in Rivers State to prevent Atiku Abubakar, the presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), from winning the 2027 election. During a monthly media parley in Rivers State, Wike dismissed rumors of relocating to the state, asserting that he needs to be present to engage with the people and monitor political developments.

He emphasized the significance of the current political period and stated, “It’s not about relocating, it’s about coming home to relate with the people.” Wike articulated his need to verify the political situation in Rivers State personally, rather than relying on assurances from political associates in Abuja. He underscored the importance of being proactive in his political role, questioning, “You want me to fold my hands for Atiku Abubakar to come and win the election?”.
