Zulum Declares Borno as APC Stronghold, Urges Unity

On his return to Maiduguri from Canada and the United States, where he received a Pan-African top leadership award, Governor Babagana Zulum declared Borno an All Progressives Congress (APC) territory. He addressed a large gathering at the airport, urging political contenders to accept electoral defeat as divine will and to forgive any grievances from the party primaries.

Zulum reflected on his administration's seven years in office, asserting integrity and fairness while acknowledging unmet expectations. He called for reconciliation and assured that the incoming governor, Mustapha Gubio, would address any unfinished tasks.

Zulum positioned the APC as the sole dominant political force in Borno, encouraging party members to vote across all positions in the upcoming elections. He stressed the significance of loyalty to the party, warning dissenters against expecting benefits from the incoming administration.

Zulum also promised more empowerment programs for women and youth groups, reaffirming his commitment to fulfilling remaining promises.
