Borno Governor Zulum Honored with Pan-African Leadership Award

Governor Babagana Zulum of Borno received the Pan-African Leadership Award, which honors distinguished accomplishments by African leaders. He dedicated the award to the resilient people of Borno and all Nigerians working to restore dignity in their communities.

The award ceremony, held in New Jersey, was chaired by Professor Ibrahim Gambari, former Chief of Staff to the late President Muhammadu Buhari, and attended by notable figures including Dr Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq, Emir of Kano HRH Muhammad Sanusi II, and former Nigerian Minister of Finance Dr Mansur Mukhtar. Zulum stated that the recognition was not solely for him but for everyone involved in improving lives.

He reflected on Borno's recovery from the Boko Haram insurgency, noting that his administration has reconstructed over 30,000 homes, schools, and health facilities since he took office in 2019. Zulum urged Nigerians in the diaspora to invest their skills and ideas back home, emphasizing the importance of investing in Africa's youth.
