D4vd to Stand Trial for Murder of Celeste Rivas Hernandez

D4vd, a 21-year-old American singer and songwriter, is set to stand trial for first-degree murder, child sexual abuse, and unlawful mutilation of human remains concerning the death of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandez. The ruling was made by Superior Court Judge Charlaine F.

Olmedo after a multi-day preliminary hearing in Los Angeles. Prosecutors allege that D4vd, whose real name is not provided, fatally stabbed and dismembered Rivas Hernandez following an illegal sexual relationship that began when she was 13 years old.

The musician was arrested on April 16, 2026, after a seven-month investigation by the LAPD and the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office. Rivas Hernandez's decomposed remains were found in the trunk of a Tesla registered to D4vd, with the killing purportedly occurring in April 2025.

D4vd has pleaded not guilty, and his defense claims that Rivas Hernandez misrepresented her age and that her family consented to their relationship. He remains in custody without bail.
