Man Sentenced to Five Years for Corpse Abuse in NYC

Felix Roja, a 44-year-old man, was sentenced to five years in prison by a New York court for sexually abusing the corpse of Jorg Gonzalez, a 37-year-old man who lost consciousness on a subway train in Manhattan in April 2025. Roja pleaded guilty to the charges, which were supported by surveillance footage showing him targeting Gonzalez, who was unresponsive at the time.

Court documents indicated that Roja searched Gonzalez's pockets during the incident. After the event, Roja, a resident of Brooklyn, surrendered to the police three weeks later and was identified through the released surveillance images.

Despite his guilty plea, he reportedly denied committing the offense when questioned by investigators. In addition to his prison sentence, the court ordered that Roja be placed under 15 years of supervised release upon completing his sentence.

It was noted that Roja is a Mexican national with previous attempts to enter the United States unlawfully. Gonzalez had lived in the United States for nearly two decades and worked various jobs to support family members in Mexico.
