Gunmen Kill Three Vigilantes in Kaduna Attack
On Monday, three members of the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KADVIS) were killed by gunmen along the Zaria-Pambegua axis in Kubau Local Government Area. KADVIS spokesperson Yunusa Shehu Ibrahim reported that the incident occurred when the personnel attempted to stop a red Volkswagen Golf saloon car during routine security checks.
The driver refused to stop, leading the personnel to pursue the vehicle in an official patrol van. The armed men opened fire, resulting in the deaths of Dallami Dantani, Abdullahi Hamisu, and Zakariyya Musa.
The attackers later returned to the KADVIS office, where they fatally wounded Hamisu and Musa before fleeing towards Zaria. Additionally, hours after the attack, armed men abducted Sunusi, the younger brother of Shehu Pambegua, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, from his residence in Pambegua.
KADVIS Commander Ali Audu expressed condolences to the families of the deceased and assured that security measures have been intensified in the area.
