Bandits Kill 5, Abduct Lawmaker's Brother in Kaduna Attacks

On September 8, 2026, armed bandits launched simultaneous attacks on communities in Giwa and Kubau, Kaduna State, resulting in the deaths of five individuals, three of whom were personnel from the Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KadVS). The attacks began in the early hours, with two residents killed in Tunburku, Kidandan District, and a separate assault in Tudun Amada leading to the abduction of 26 residents.

Prior to these incidents, bandits targeted the Kura community, stealing cattle. In Kubau, a confrontation during a routine security check led to the death of Dallami Dantani, the second-in-command of KadVS in Kubau, along with two other officers, Abdullahi Hamisu and Zakariyya Musa.

Additionally, Sanusi, the brother of Alhaji Shehu Pambegua, a member of the Kaduna State House of Assembly, was abducted. KadVS Commander CP Ali Audu expressed condolences for the slain officers and announced heightened security measures in the area to locate the abducted victims.
