Samuel Bensoussan's Match-Fixing Ban Extended to 2030

Samuel Bensoussan, a 34-year-old French tennis player, has had his match-fixing ban extended by three years after an unsuccessful appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS). The International Tennis Integrity Agency (ITIA) confirmed that Bensoussan's initial suspension of one year and eleven months, imposed in June 2022 by an independent anti-corruption hearing officer, was due to his involvement in fixing four matches linked to a criminal syndicate in Belgium.

In addition to the ban, he was fined €12,000 (approximately £8,880). The CAS upheld the ITIA's charges and increased Bensoussan's sanction, aligning it with similar cases, which means he will be banned from professional tennis until 2030.

Bensoussan was previously ranked as high as 405 in June 2018 but has not competed professionally since 2019. He is prohibited from playing, coaching, or attending events organized by the ATP, WTA, or Grand Slam tournaments.
