Terrorists Kill 30 Worshippers in Niger Mosque Attacks

On Friday, terrorists attacked four mosques in Dekara, Kpenya, Sabon-Gida, and Gidan-Zana communities during Juma’at prayers, resulting in the deaths of approximately 30 worshippers and the abduction of over 60 individuals. Mohammed Nasir Abdullahi, the Chairman of Borgu LGA, confirmed that the communities have recovered and buried the bodies of the victims.

He reported that the attackers gathered the worshippers and marched them into the forest. Following the attacks, many residents fled to New Bussa and the Benin Republic due to threats from the terrorists.

Abdullahi noted that some houses, including the residence of District Head Abubakar Umar, were set ablaze. A joint security operation has been initiated to track the attackers and rescue the abducted individuals.

Jonah Danjuma, spokesman for the 2 Division of the Nigerian Army, stated that efforts are underway to identify the masterminds behind the abduction. Residents have called for increased security measures to protect those displaced and ensure their safety.
