LASU Graduate Celebrates First-Class Degree Achievement

Faith Oluwasegun Olateju graduated with First-Class Honours in Economics from Lagos State University (LASU) on 18 August 2026. His academic journey began with aspirations to attend the University of Ibadan (UI), where he scored 291 in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), surpassing UI's cutoff of 260.

However, the prolonged Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) strike disrupted his plans. During this period, he explored other options and decided to enroll at LASU in April 2023, with his mother's support.

Faith's focused academic efforts led him to complete his B.Sc. in Economics within three years, and he proudly referred to LASU as "the best state university in Nigeria.".
