55 Illegal Migrants Arrested in Osun State Operation

On Friday, the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Osun State Command, paraded 55 illegal migrants from Cameroon and Congo in Osogbo. The migrants were arrested at various locations for entering the state without proper documentation.

Osun Comptroller of Immigration, Ibrahim Akinyemi, stated that the arrests were made following intelligence reports. He noted that the migrants had arrived through unauthorized routes and were engaged in illegal online business activities without registration.

Akinyemi mentioned that the migrants were residing in the Owode-Ede community and that the command was actively searching for others who might be hiding. During interrogation, one migrant, Ismail Mohammed from Cameroon, revealed he arrived in February 2026 at the invitation of a lady from Chad for online business.

The NIS plans to repatriate the migrants and pursue those responsible for facilitating their entry into the state.
