Adamawa Police Arrest Man for Cyberbullying Chief

The Adamawa State Police Command arrested 31-year-old Buriba Israel from Jambutu, Yola South Local Government Area, for alleged cyberbullying and criminal intimidation against First-Class Chief Hamman Bachama, Daniel Samaila. In a statement issued on Friday by the command's spokesman, Suleiman Nguroje, the police condemned the use of social media for cyberbullying and the dissemination of unverified allegations against respected members of society.

Preliminary investigations indicated that Israel made and circulated offensive social media posts that undermined the chief's reputation. His arrest followed a formal complaint and a police investigation into his online activities.

Relevant electronic devices linked to the alleged offences were recovered and are undergoing forensic examination. The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Hassan, directed a thorough investigation and emphasized that the suspect would face the law if found guilty.

The command reiterated its commitment to protecting the dignity of traditional institutions and maintaining public order in the digital space.
