Wike: 70% of FCT Projects Revived After 16 Years

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, stated that 70% of the projects completed by his administration were abandoned for 15 to 16 years prior to their revival. During a monthly media chat in Abuja, Wike discussed the challenges of inherited projects and the necessity to complete them rather than initiate new ones.

He noted that the administration has executed 60% of its projects in the last three years, focusing on those that were previously awarded but left incomplete. Wike attributed the pace of development in the nation's capital to the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, particularly highlighting the decision to remove the Treasury Single Account (TSA), which made funds more readily available for infrastructure development.

He emphasized that the administration's goal is to improve transportation and enhance the quality of life for residents in the Federal Capital Territory.
