Tinubu Celebrates FCT Progress Under Wike's Leadership

During a special dinner in Abuja on Friday, President Bola Tinubu remarked on the improvements in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) 50 years after its creation. The event celebrated the inauguration of 31 projects across the FCT, with Tinubu expressing gratitude to Nyesom Wike, the current FCT Minister, for his leadership and efforts.

Tinubu acknowledged the challenges faced by civil servants when Wike assumed office in August 2023 and noted the establishment of the FCT Civil Service Commission to motivate workers. He highlighted the completion of nine projects in his first year, 19 in the second, and 31 in the third year of his administration.

Tinubu also mentioned the removal of the FCT Treasury Single Account (TSA) to enhance project execution. Wike received commendations for transforming the FCT's landscape, with Tajudeen Abba, Speaker of the House of Representatives, calling him the best-performing minister for the territory.

The event underscored the administration's commitment to infrastructure development and national unity.
