Wike Commits to 10 Abuja Projects Before 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that at least 10 major road and infrastructure projects in Abuja will be completed before the 2027 general elections. This assurance was made during an inspection of the Tungan Madaki-Zuba Road and Nile University-RR3 Road projects.

Wike's inspection aimed to assess the progress of projects inaugurated during the FCT Administration’s third anniversary and to ensure contractors meet their delivery commitments. He reported that five of the six box culverts at the Tungan Madaki-Zuba Road project had been completed, commending the contractor, China Geo-Engineering Corporation, for their capacity and commitment.

Wike also acknowledged that some contractors had not received adequate mobilization funds but assured them that the FCT Administration would fulfill its financial obligations. He stated that the administration is working towards having 10 projects ready for commissioning before the elections and mentioned ongoing efforts to tackle flooding in Abuja by removing obstructive structures.
