Nasarawa Residents Receive N18.7m Business Grants

The Executive Chairman of the Nasarawa State Universal Basic Education Board, Dr Kassim Muhammed-Kassim, empowered 75 less-privileged individuals from the Nasarawa North Senatorial District with N18.7 million in business grants, distributing N250,000 to each beneficiary. The distribution was flagged off by Governor Abdullahi Sule on Saturday in Akwanga Local Government Area.

Governor Sule praised the initiative, stating it would strengthen small businesses and stimulate economic growth. He urged beneficiaries to utilize the funds judiciously and expressed hope that they could grow their grants into larger sums.

Dr Kassim explained that the beneficiaries were selected based on their potential to manage the funds wisely, and he raised the money from selling clothes to schools in Ghana. He assured that the funds were not for political campaigns and announced plans for a future empowerment program providing N50,000 each to 300 individuals from Wamba, Akwanga, and Nasarawa Eggon Local Government Areas.

Beneficiaries expressed gratitude and commitment to using the funds appropriately.
