Nine Young Men Killed in Sokoto Auto Crash

An auto crash in Sokoto has resulted in the deaths of nine young men from Yabo who were traveling to Lagos in search of better opportunities. Hon.

Abubakar Shehu Shamaki, a member of the Sokoto State House of Assembly representing the Yabo constituency, expressed profound grief regarding the tragic incident. He described the event as a devastating blow to the entire Shagari and Yabo communities.

In a statement issued to newsmen on Saturday, Hon. Shamaki conveyed his sorrow over the loss, emphasizing the pain felt by the families and the community at large.

He noted that the deceased had left home with hopes of achieving a better life, and their untimely deaths have thrown the community into deep mourning. The lawmaker called on relevant authorities to intensify efforts towards road safety and to support youth in seeking legitimate opportunities within the state to reduce the dangers associated with migration in search of jobs.
