Tambuwal Mourns 41 Victims of Sokoto Boat Mishap

Aminu Tambuwal, the former governor of Sokoto, expressed his deep sadness regarding a tragic boat mishap that occurred in Gorau community, Goronyo Local Government Area, which resulted in the loss of 41 lives. In a statement shared on his verified X handle on Thursday, Tambuwal extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased and the residents of Gorau community.

The National Inland Waterways Authority (NIWA) confirmed that 11 individuals were rescued following the incident. Tambuwal commended the efforts of the rescuers and all those involved in the emergency response.

He urged relevant authorities to conduct an urgent investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident and to enhance safety measures on Nigeria's waterways to prevent similar tragedies in the future. He expressed his thoughts and prayers for all affected by this devastating loss and prayed for the deceased, asking for their forgiveness and eternal peace.
