TG Omori Reveals Kidney Failure Struggles and Costs

ThankGod Omori, known as TG Omori, is a celebrated Nigerian video director who recently opened up about his struggle with kidney failure during a podcast aired on YouTube on September 23, 2026. He spent over six months hospitalized in Ikoyi, with only a close circle of colleagues, including Olamide Baddo, Fireboy, Asake, Rema, Young John, and Zlatan, aware of his condition.

Finding a compatible kidney donor was a nine-month ordeal, with six initial volunteers ruled out due to compatibility issues. Ultimately, his brother donated a kidney, but tragically, TG Omori's body rejected it.

A second attempt was made, but the organ still did not respond, leaving his brother with only one kidney. TG Omori disclosed the financial burden of his treatment, stating that dialysis sessions at standard hospitals cost between 50,000 and 70,000 naira, while private facilities charged between 150,000 and 200,000 naira each.

With patients needing three sessions weekly, the annual cost could reach approximately 31 million naira, excluding additional expenses.
