TG Omori Reveals ₦31 Million Spent on Kidney Transplant

ThankGod Omori, known as TG Omori, revealed that he incurred expenses of approximately ₦31 million for a kidney transplant after battling kidney failure. In an interview on the Afropolitan podcast, he discussed the heavy financial burden of his treatment, stating that even a monthly salary of ₦1 million would not have sufficed to cover his medical costs.

Omori detailed that dialysis sessions ranged from ₦50,000 to ₦200,000, with patients often needing up to three sessions weekly, leading to costs of ₦500,000 to ₦600,000 per week. He recounted his experience waiting a year for a transplant and the challenges he faced, including an unsuccessful attempt to receive a kidney from his brother due to compatibility issues.

Omori emphasized the significant financial strain of his health challenges, noting that a minimum-wage person would struggle to afford such treatment. He reflected on how this experience altered his perspective on the importance of financial support during serious health issues.
