YEDIS Founder Advocates AI in Education for Development

Mr. Rafiu Akinpelu Olaor, the founder and executive director of the Youth Enterprise Development Innovation Society (YEDIS), spoke at a seminar organized by the Faculty of Management Studies at Osun State Polytechnic.

He highlighted the critical role of artificial intelligence and digital technology in improving teaching and research, which are essential for driving economic development in Nigeria. Olaor noted that successful educational reform depends on empowering educators and urged educational administrators to develop digital competencies.

He encouraged embracing lifelong learning and innovation to equip students with the necessary skills for a rapidly evolving labor market. The seminar attracted significant participation from academic staff, students, and stakeholders, emphasizing the need for educational institutions to prioritize investments in AI capabilities.

Olaor expressed appreciation for the rector of the institution, Dr. Alabi Kehind, and Dean Dr.

Ogunley Philip, and reiterated YEDIS's commitment to advancing digital inclusion and entrepreneurship among underserved communities across Africa.
