Oyo State Lifts Curfew in 10 LGAs After Kidnapping Review

The Oyo State Government has lifted the curfew that was previously imposed on ten local government areas as a measure to facilitate the rescue of abducted pupils and teachers from a school in Oriir Local Government Area. This decision was announced in a statement issued on Saturday by the Commissioner, Dotun Oyelade, following a review of the security situation affecting the area.

The curfew had been imposed on June 24, restricting activities for 16 hours daily, and was extended for an additional day on Thursday. Although the government did not provide further details on the outcomes of ongoing security operations, residents were urged to remain vigilant and cooperate with law enforcement agencies to enhance public safety.

The government assured that it would continue to monitor developments closely and work with security agencies to ensure peace and safety in the region.
