Abia Police Arrest Ugochukwu Precious for Gun Possession

The Abia State Police Command arrested 28-year-old Ugochukwu Precious for alleged violent criminal activities and unlawful possession of firearms. Precious, a resident of Umuohia, Ogbor Hill, Aba, was apprehended by operatives of the Rapid Response Squad following a report regarding an unpaid iPhone 17 Pro Max.

The police stated that Precious obtained the phone on a payment-on-delivery basis in April 2026 but failed to make the payment. The situation escalated when he allegedly threatened the seller and employed thugs.

Following actionable intelligence, police operatives arrested him, and a pump-action shotgun was recovered from him the day after his arrest. Ongoing investigations aim to apprehend other suspected gang members still at large.

The police indicated that Precious would be charged in court once the investigation concludes. Commissioner of Police Wilfred Afolabi urged the public to remain law-abiding and provide timely information to assist in crime prevention.
