Wellington Clinics Denies Allegations of Organ Harvesting

Wellington Clinics in Abuja issued a statement denying any involvement in alleged organ harvesting concerning kidney donor Mr. Abubakar Hassan. The clinic clarified that the donor nephrectomy was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Benjamin Friday Oyimeh, a Senior Consultant Nephrologist and CEO of Crown Medical and Kidney Centre, on April 24, 2026.

The hospital's Director of Administration, Mr. Yemi Olatunbosun, stated that Hassan, who is actually Mr. Samuel Ezekiel, had changed his name to conceal his identity. The clinic is fully cooperating with the Nigeria Police Force, which is investigating the matter.

Hassan was admitted with various documents, including a court affidavit and a National Identification Number slip, and underwent the surgery on the same day. He was discharged on April 28, 2026, and readmitted on July 11 for wound management, being discharged again on July 13, 2026.
