Accord Party Demands Prosecution of Senator Fadahunsi

The Accord Party has called for the prosecution of Senator Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, following his inflammatory remarks made during a campaign event in Ilesha. In a viral video, Fadahunsi urged his supporters to confront members of the Accord Party, stating, “If we see anyone from the Accord Party, we will kill them.” After backlash, he clarified that he intended to call for a rejection of the Accord Party at the polls through lawful means.

Joseph Omorogbe, the National Publicity Secretary of the Accord Party, condemned Fadahunsi's comments as “outrageous and reprehensible,” warning they could escalate political tensions. The party has urged the Inspector General of Police and the Director-General of the Department of State Services to arrest Fadahunsi and prevent violence before the August 15 governorship election.

Additionally, the Accord Party alleged that over 60 of its members had been detained to hinder their participation in the election and called for their release.
