Accord Party Demands Arrest of Senator Fadahunsi

The Accord Party has demanded the immediate arrest and prosecution of Senator Francis Adenigba Fadahunsi, who represents the Osun East Senatorial District, over alleged incitement to violence against its members and supporters ahead of the governorship election scheduled for August 15. This demand was articulated in a statement by the party's National Publicity Secretary, Joseph Omorogbe, following a viral campaign video that purportedly shows Fadahunsi urging All Progressives Congress (APC) members to kill Accord supporters during a campaign in Ijeshaland.

The party condemned these remarks as outrageous and warned that they heightened political tension in Osun State. Accord has also alleged that over 60 of its members have been arrested and detained in Abuja and Nasarawa State to prevent their participation in the upcoming election.

The party called for investigations by the Inspector-General of Police and the DSS and urged Osun residents to maintain peace and exercise their voting rights freely.
