APC Defends Senator Fadahunsi Amid Election Controversy

The Osun State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) issued a statement defending Senator Francis Fadahunsi against allegations of inciting comments attributed to him. The statement, released by Director of Media and Information Kola Olabisi, claimed Fadahunsi was quoted out of context and accused Governor Ademola Adeleke and the Accord Party of using the controversy for political gain ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday.

The APC asserted that it does not support violence and that the controversy was fueled by a doctored version of Fadahunsi’s remarks. The party alleged that Adeleke's criticism stemmed from Fadahunsi's defection from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and recent political developments, including endorsements of APC candidate Bola Oyebamiji by notable figures.

Additionally, lawyers representing Olajengbesi sent a letter demanding Fadahunsi retract statements made during interviews that allegedly questioned Olajengbesi’s origins and linked him to violence. They demanded a public apology and a written undertaking not to repeat such claims.
