SERAP Warns Nigerian Governors to Account for N14 Trillion Fuel Subsidy Savings

The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has issued a warning to Nigeria's 36 state governors and the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, demanding accountability for the estimated N14 trillion fuel subsidy savings. SERAP urged the officials to disclose detailed spending plans for the savings or face legal action.

The organization emphasized the need for transparency in utilizing the funds to improve public services like healthcare and education for vulnerable Nigerians. The call for accountability was made through a Freedom of Information request dated October 4, 2025.
