Bincike International Launches OneDelegate for Artisans

Bincike International introduced OneDelegate, a digital platform designed to connect trained artisans with customers in Yola, Nigeria, on September 11. The initiative aims to combat the conditions that lead young people towards criminal activities, particularly in light of ongoing arrests of suspected members of local criminal networks known as Shilla gangs.

Elisha Bello, the executive director of Bincike International, stated that many young individuals who completed skills training programs still face unemployment, making them vulnerable to criminal recruitment. OneDelegate allows artisans offering services such as plumbing, electrical repairs, and carpentry to be discovered by residents.

Artisans undergo a verification process before listing, and customers can rate their services. To include those without reliable internet access, Bincike plans to introduce a USSD option and a telephone-based service called OneDelegate Hop.

The organization also aims to partner with existing skills training programs to facilitate certification and registration for graduates at no cost, particularly benefiting internally displaced persons.
