ADC Challenges Yari on N15.8tr Subsidy Revenue Impact

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has called on Senator Abdul’aziz Yari, the Director-General of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council, to account for the N15.8 trillion generated from the removal of fuel subsidy and foreign exchange reforms. In a statement from its National Publicity Secretary, Mallam Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC emphasized Yari's significant role in advocating for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's re-election.

The ADC cited figures from the Minister of Finance indicating that from June 2023 to December 2025, the removal of the petrol subsidy and foreign exchange reforms resulted in N15.8 trillion in additional resources, with N5.4 trillion allocated to the Federal Government, N5.4 trillion to state governments, and N3.9 trillion to local governments. Despite these increases, the ADC argued that living conditions for Nigerians have worsened, with petrol prices soaring from N185 per litre in May 2023 to over N1,300 by August 2025, and food inflation exceeding 40%.

The party questioned the APC's claims of improved financial conditions for citizens amid rising costs of living.
