ADC Leads Early Votes in Kubwa II Chairmanship Election

In the early chairmanship votes for Kubwa II, the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has taken a lead with a total of 67 votes across four polling units, while the All Progressives Congress (APC) garnered 40 votes, according to results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The election reflects a close race, with the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) receiving 21 votes and the Progress Grand Alliance (PGA) 20 votes.

Out of 4,063 registered voters, only 181 were accredited to cast their ballots, indicating significant voter apathy. In the chairmanship results, the APC received 1 vote, ADC 7, PGA 3, and PDP 1.

In the councillorship contest, the ADC scored 1 vote, APC 14, PGA 3, PDP 4, SDP 1, YPP 2, and ZLP 3. Allegations of vote-buying were reported, particularly near polling unit 024, where female canvassers allegedly offered 2,000 Naira per vote.

Additionally, issues with the biometric voter authentication machines were noted, prompting voters to provide power banks to keep the devices operational.
