Adeboye and Oyedepo Urge U.S. Action Against Terrorism

During the 2026 Faith Defend Award gala held at the Hilton Garden Inn in Washington D.C. on June 23, Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, and David Oyedepo, Presiding Bishop of Winners Chapel, urged for stronger support from the United States to tackle terrorism in Nigeria. They warned that Nigeria is on the brink of collapse due to persistent insecurity and terrorist attacks.

Adeboye made a direct appeal for international support, stating, "help us help us no matter the office in Nigeria." The event was organized by the Save Nigeria Group USA, with Stephen Osemwegi emphasizing the need for U.S. Congress to pass the Nigeria Religious Freedom Accountability Act.

Former U.S. Ambassador for International Religious Freedom, Sam Brownback, warned of the risk of violent civil unrest in Nigeria if urgent steps are not taken.

The gala marked the end of a week-long advocacy campaign aimed at boosting international cooperation against terrorism.
