Abuja Hosts Nigeria-Poland Friendship Football Watch Party

On Wednesday, a historic watch party was held in Abuja to celebrate the friendship between Nigeria and Poland, coinciding with a friendly football match that ended in a 2-2 draw. The event was hosted by Hon. Adeyinka Adeboy, Senior Special Assistant to the President on Grassroot Sports Development, in collaboration with the Polish Embassy in Nigeria.

It attracted various dignitaries, including Rt. Hon. Philip Shaibu, Director General of the National Institute of Sports, Engr. Corneliu O.

Adebayo, CEO of the National Agricultural Land Development Authority, and Senat Gbenga Elegbeleye, Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL). Notable Nigerian football legends such as Victor Ikpeba, Samson Siasia, and Waidi Akanni were also present.

Hon. Adeboy described the event as a major success, emphasizing that it demonstrated how sports can unite people beyond borders, politics, religion, and culture. The initiative aligns with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu's Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in youth engagement and international cooperation in grassroots sports development.
