Adebutu Launches 2027 Ogun Governorship Campaign Agenda

On Wednesday, during the flag-off of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) campaign for the 2027 governorship election at Ake Palace in Abeokuta, Oladipupo Adebutu, the PDP candidate, unveiled his economic and social development agenda titled “ITURA DE.” He pledged to restore local government autonomy, enhance workers’ welfare, and revive Ogun State’s economy if elected. Adebutu, a former federal lawmaker, presented his campaign address, “A Call to Liberation,” aimed at addressing poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and poor governance.

He criticized the period since 2011 as marked by hardship and alleged maladministration. His agenda focuses on seven priority areas, including security, local government financial autonomy, urban development, agricultural and industrial development, and enhancement of education and healthcare.

Adebutu emphasized that his administration would implement five broad programmes to ensure accountability and transparency in governance, promising to dismantle fear and secure communities.
