Adebutu Announces Third Bid for Ogun Governorship in 2027

Oladipupo Adebutu has officially declared his intent to run for the governorship of Ogun State for the third time in the upcoming 2027 elections. This announcement was made through a letter dated April 30, 2026, which was addressed to the leadership of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State.

The letter was made available to journalists by his media aide, Afolabi Orekoya, and was directed to the Ogun State chairman of the PDP, Abayomi Tella. In the letter, Adebutu, a member of the party from Ward 4 in Odogbolu Local Government Area, expressed his commitment to abide by the party's constitution and outlined his desire to lead the party to victory in the upcoming elections.

He emphasized the importance of unity among party members as they prepare for the electoral cycle and expressed his willingness to work with all factions within the party to ensure success in the 2027 elections. Adebutu previously contested for the governorship seat in 2019 and 2023.
