Adeleke's Camp Retracts Remarks Against Okpebholo

Following the conclusion of the Osun State governorship election, Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson for Governor Ademola Adeleke’s campaign council, withdrew previous remarks made against Governor Monday Okpebholo of Edo State. Olajengbesi stated he was retracting any statements that could be seen as disrespectful towards Okpebholo.

During the election campaign, Okpebholo criticized Adeleke's leadership style, mocking him for his frequent dancing and suggesting that it detracted from his governance. He claimed Adeleke was often absent from meetings of APC governors in Abuja, which he argued affected Adeleke's grasp of political issues.

Olajengbesi described Okpebholo's conduct as "very uncharitable" but called for political disagreements to be separated from respect for public institutions. He advised Okpebholo to rely more on his media aides for political communications and to minimize the influence of overly enthusiastic supporters.
