Olajengbesi Withdraws Comments on Edo Governor Okpebholo

Pelumi Olajengbesi, the spokesperson for the Imole Campaign Council, has officially withdrawn his previous remarks regarding Edo State Governor Okpebholo, which he recognized could have been perceived as disrespectful. In a statement, Olajengbesi emphasized that political disagreements should not compromise respect for public institutions and the offices held by officials.

He described Okpebholo's conduct during his visit to Osun State for the August 15 governorship election as “very uncharitable,” but noted that the election is now concluded and should not overshadow its outcome. He advised the governor to communicate more through his media aides and to manage the influence of what he termed “two overzealous cheerleaders” around him.

Olajengbesi pointed out that many prominent members of the All Progressives Congress (APC) participated in the Osun election without disrespecting Governor Ademola Adeleke or undermining the dignity of his office. He reiterated the importance of holding elected officials accountable while maintaining civility in political discourse.
