Osun State Empowers Pardoned Inmates with POS Machines

In a recent initiative, Kazeem Akinleye, the Chief of Staff to Governor Ademola Adeleke, empowered inmates pardoned by the Osun State government with Point-of-Sale (POS) machines and cash capital. This empowerment took place over the weekend in Osogbo and is part of efforts to assist these individuals in starting small businesses and rebuilding their lives.

The beneficiaries were among those pardoned last year as part of a rehabilitation initiative. They had actively participated in the 2026 governorship election, supporting Adeleke's campaign.

Akinleye emphasized that the initiative aims to provide practical means for economic independence, stating that rehabilitation should extend beyond mere release. A monitoring team will track the beneficiaries' progress over the next three to 24 months.

The initiative reflects the Adeleke administration's commitment to rehabilitation, human capital development, and inclusive governance, aiming to provide vulnerable citizens with opportunities for a better future.
